Was involved in a sex scandal in 2008 when recorded engaging in sado-masochistic acts with five prostitutes. Withstanding heavy criticism and calls to stand down, Mosley held on to his position as FIA President. Later that year, Mosley won a High Court legal case for invasion of privacy against the tabloid newspaper responsible for the video recording.
In 2006 he was awarded France's highest decoration, the Legion d'Honneur, thanks to his services to motor-sport as President of its ruling body the FIA.

Studied law and graduated but turned to motorsport. He raced in Formula 2 - with other Formula One drivers - but retired after he found out that he was not likely to become a world champion. Mosley set up his own F1 team - March Engineering between 1969 and 1977 - before he turned to motorsport politics.
