Ludmila Zeman (born 23 April 1947) is a Czech-Canadian artist, animator, and children's book author/illustrator. She is the daughter of filmmaker Karel Zeman.Born in Czechoslovakia, she graduated from the college of art (St?ední um?leckopr?myslová škola) in Uherské Hradišt?. She then launched a career in story books and animation for children.Zeman emigrated to Canada with her husband in 1984 after being invited to teach at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. She produced Lord of the Sky, an animated short film based on myths of the Canadian north Pacific First Nations, for the National Film Board of Canada. She also worked on animation for the popular television series Sesame Street.Zeman won the 1995 Governor General's Award for Children's Illustration for her book The Last Quest of Gilgamesh. The Embassy of Canada in Japan presented an exhibition of Ludmila Zeman's work in Tokyo in 2011.
