Jerry Lamothe is an African American writer/director/producer/performer, of Haitian ancestry, Produced to parents, Frantz and Marlene Lamothe who are from Port au Prince Haiti. In 2000, he composed, created, directed and starred in his directorial debut, “Amour Infinity”. Shot on a single DV camera in twenty two days for $45,000, the picture is seen by many as an urban underground classic. “Amour Infinity” premiered in the 2000 Urbanworld film festival to sold out crowds and was a festival favourite. "In 1999, I saved up some money and flew out to Acapolco to attend the festival and Bill Dukes Actor's Bootcamp. Duke had assigned the class to read a series of books first, prior to our arrival. The first day he says, "If anyone here is truly serious about their craft, someone in this room will return next year with their own movie". I went to Mexico as an aspiring actor, but returned home an independent filmmaker. It was definitely a defining chapter in my life" says LaMothe.
