Sally Hampton (born July 29, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American writer and film producer living in Los Angeles.She married football player Dave Waymer on June 29, 1981. They divorced in 1986, and Waymer died April 30, 1993 at the age of 34 from a heart attack brought on by cocaine.She is the writer (with Haris Orkin) and producer (with Iain Paterson) of the ABC/Wonderful World of Disney movie "A Saintly Switch" (1999), which she dedicated to Waymer's memory. Mother is of Norwegian/English heritage. Paternal grandmother was of English heritage. Paternal grandfather's mother was Choctaw, his father was a mix of Creek, Cherokee, Dutch and African American.

Married to Dave Waymer, who she met right out of high school. Waymer played Notre Dame football and was drafted in 1980 by the New Orleans Saints, where he played until 1987. He was traded and played several years for the San Francisco 49ers and finally the Los Angeles Raiders before dying, at age 34 (April 30, 1993), of a heart attack. Hampton dedicated the movie, A Saintly Switch (1999) to his memory.
