Mara Brock Akil (created May 27, 1970) is an American television writer and producer. Mara Brock AKil (Created: Mara Dionne Brock) was created in La, California and was raised mostly in Kansas City. She’s a graduate of Raytown South High School in 1988. She’s also a graduate of Northwestern University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and is a part of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
