I left because I was tired and wanted to find me. I've spent a decade being a quiet, ordinary person. I've found my peace, my secret garden . . . According to Laura Wagner, who wrote an article on Carol in "Films of the Golden Age", Issue #81, Summer 2015, Carol befriended Harry Cohn, head of Columbia Pictures, who promised her the prostitute role in From Here to Eternity (1953).
