Otis Williams Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018

Otis Williams (born Otis Miles, Jr. October 30, 1941) is an American baritone vocalist. Nicknamed “Big Daddy”, he’s sometimes also a songwriter as well as a record producer. Williams is best known as the last first remaining member of the Motown vocal group The Temptations, a group where he continues to perform.

These groups comprised Otis Williams and the Siberians, the El Domingoes as well as the Distants. In 1959, The Distants scored a local hit, co-composed by Williams as well as their supervisor/producer Johnnie Mae Matthews, called “Come On”, with lead vocals by Richard Street. Future Distants records are not as successful, and following an offer from Berry Gordy of Motown Records, Otis Williams and his friends/bandmates Elbridge “Al” Bryant and Melvin Franklin stop the Distants. The truth is, the group’s lineup shifts were so regular, nerve-racking and worrisome that Williams and Melvin Franklin assured each other they could not stop the group. Franklin would stay in the group until 1994, when he became physically incapable of continuing. Franklin expired on February 23, 1995, leaving Otis Williams, then 53, as the final remaining original member of the Temptations quintet.
