Shayne Thomas Ward (born 16 October 1984) is an English vocalist of Irish ancestry, who rose to fame as the winner of the next show of “The X Factor”. His debut single, “That’s My Goal”, premiered in the UK on 21 December 2005 and became the final number one of 2005 on the united kingdom Singles Chart and that year’s Christmas number one.
Ward is the only “X Factor” winner to release an initial tune as his victor’s single; all other winners have released a cover version of some other tune. The contract had a stated value of 1million, of which 150,000 was a cash advance and the balance was allocated to record and marketing costs. His eponymous debut record was launched in April 2006. It debuted at number one on the Irish and UK Albums Charts, going 4 Platinum in Ireland and Platinum in Britain. Additionally, it spawned two hit singles: “No Guarantees” and “Stand by Me”.
In November 2010, following a three-year hiatus, Ward released his third record, “Obsession”. In 2011, it had been verified that Ward were dropped by Syco after six years. He’s yet to procure another record deal. On 18 December 2012, it had been verified Ward would appear in “Dancing on Ice” which began on 6 January 2013.

Quote
1
The reason I'm doing all of this is for my mum. She deserves the best, she's brought up seven kids, she can relax now and not be stressed out every Saturday night with whether I'm going or not. She can just relax and think, 'My son's done it for me.'
