Helen Reddy (created 25 October 1941) is an Australian American vocalist, performer, and activist. She’s frequently called the “Queen of 70s Pop”. In the 1970s, she have international success, particularly in America, where she put fifteen singles in the Top 40 of the “Billboard” Hot 100. Six made the Top 10 and three reached No. 1, including her signature hit “I’m Woman”. She put 25 tunes on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. She was the very first musician to win the coveted American Music Award for “Favorite Pop/Rock Female” musician. She was the very first Australian to win a Grammy Award and also to have three No. 1 hits in the same year. In television, she was the very first Australian to host her own one-hour weekly primetime variety show on an American network, along with several specials which were viewed in over forty states. In 2011, Billboard named her the No. 28 AC musician of all time (No. 9 girl). Now, she’s living in California. Her song “I Am Woman” played a significant part in popular culture and became an anthem for second-wave feminism.
