Olivia Theresa Longott (created February 15, 1981 in Brooklyn, New York), professionally generally known as Olivia, is an American R&B vocalist best known for giving vocals to 50 Cent’s Billboard chart topper “Candy Shop” and her debut record Olivia. She was a regular cast member in the very first three seasons (2011-2013) of the VH1 reality television show Love & Hip Hop.
Produced in Brooklyn, New York and raised in NYC, Longott is of Cuban, Native American and Jamaican ancestry. Olivia started her acting career in her teen years. In 2000, she became the very first artist signed to Clive Davis’ J Records. The record debuted at #55 on the Billboard 200. In 2004, Olivia reemerged as the primary girl signed to G-Unit Records. She contributed vocals to the group’s debut album Beg for Mercy and to 50 Cent’s The Massacre, for example, record’s number one single “Candy Shop”. Both tunes did not debut on the charts because of little promotion. Olivia briefly attended Hofstra University in NY and planned her second album, Behind Closed Doors, that was initially slated for a 2006 release on Interscope and G-Unit Records. Around once, Olivia given vocals to Shaggy (Olivia released her single, “Best Friend”, featuring 50 Cent in 2006.) In 2007, it had been declared Olivia and G-Unit Records had parted ways, so her second studio album Behind Closed Doors was shelved. But, the record has since been released as a mixtape available for downloading on several sites. In 2009, Olivia did a characteristic for Congolese vocalist Fally Ipupa on his tune “Chaise Electrique”. She’s been a cast member on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop”, where her quest to seek out the best record label house is chronicled. It had been anticipated that Longott was continue to releasing her music alone after declining a deal from label EMI. It had been affirmed in April 2012 that she’s signed a deal with Jerry Wonda’s Wonda Music. She’s since released two promotional tunes: ‘Soldier Girl’ (featuring Mavado) and ‘Sun Do Not Shine’ (featuring Sean Kingston). In 2013, Olivia’s tune ‘Where Do I Go From Here’ hit iTunes at the No. 10 spot on the R&B/Soul graphs.
