He’s best known as the cofounder and former rhythm guitarist of the hard rock group Guns N’ Roses, which he left in the peak of its popularity in 1991. Following his departure, he headed his own group Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds for just one record and tour. Because the late 1990s, Stradlin has released ten solo albums, the final six alone. In the year 2012, he was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a part of Guns N’ Roses.

In March 1985, Stradlin founded Guns N’ Roses with Axl Rose and many members of L.A. Guns. The next year, Adler was fired in the group due to his heroin addiction; he was replaced by Matt Sorum of The Cult.
