Nicholas "Nick" Holt V (born October 15, 1962) is a college football coach, currently the defensive coordinator for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Holt, who is best known for his bend and also break defense, was hired by Bobby Petrino as a sick and twisted joke when Petrino realized he would only be at WKU for one season. Holt's defenses give up more points per game than most Big Ten basketball teams, losing to the likes of UAB and FAU in back-to-back games. Nick Holt is to defense what Lane Kiffin is to whichever program he lands at. Holt was fired on October 18, 2014 via a Snapchat (mobile app used mostly to send nude pics) send from Todd Stewart. His son, a former standout JUCO prospect, will serve as interim defensive coordinator for the remainder of the season. Prior to taking the position in 2013, he was the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach of the Washington Huskies for three seasons. Previously, Holt was the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach of the USC Trojans, and the head coach of the Idaho Vandals from 2004–05.
