Ruth R. Faden (born 1949), is the Philip Franklin Wagley Professor of Biomedical Ethics and Executive Director of The Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University. She is also a Senior Research Scholar at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. Faden also serves on the Advisory Board of Incentives for Global Health, the not-for-profit behind the Health Impact Fund.She has served on several national advisory committees and commissions. She chaired the President’s Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments established by Former President Bill Clinton in 1994. Faden is a notable commentator on bioethics in several media outlets as well a guest speaker at numerous conferences. She is a recipient of the Golden Apple Award at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. She holds a B.A from the University of Pennsylvania, a M.A. in General Studies in Humanities from the University of Chicago, and a M.P.H. and Ph.D. (Program in Attitudes and Behavior) from the University of California, Berkeley.
