Nate Mendel Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018
Nate Mendel was born on December 2, 1968, in Richland, a midsized city in southeast Washington. His first instrument was the violin. As in the age of 13, Mendel began to get interested in rock music and joining a group, a buddy who played guitar proposed him to play bass guitar. As an alternative to examining the bass guitar playing of someone like John Entwistle, which may have given me a basis of the best way to play. I simply wished to play lots of notes really quickly.” Mendel started his musical career in the hardcore group Diddly Squat, which just recorded a 7 single but did a national tour throughout the 1988 summer vacation. After Diddly Squat finished, Mendel moved to Seattle, where he spent four months on the straight edge group Brotherhood. Later he joined the group Christ on a Crutch, which contained bandmate Glen Essary and continued until 1993. In 1992, Mendel and his University of Washington housemate Dan Hoerner made a decision to form a band, and encouraged drummer William Goldsmith to form the group that will become named Sunny Day Real Estate. Mendel included that SDRE was an effort to “play more complex, fascinating music”. While Mendel toured Europe with Christ on a Crutch, Jeremy Enigk jammed using the remaining members and finally became a fulltime member of SDRE. After Sunny Day Real Estate disbanded in 1995, Mendel and Goldsmith were encouraged by Dave Grohl to join his group, the Foo Fighters in 1995. He’s stayed a bandmember ever since, being among the sole first members in the Foo Fighters present lineup along with Grohl and former Nirvana live guitarist Pat Smear. In 2001, he played with Juno.
