Marc Lowell Andreessen (/ndrisn/ “an-DREE-sn”; created July 9, 1971) is an American entrepreneur, investor, and software engineer. He founded and later sold the software company Opsware to Hewlett Packard. Andreessen can also be a cofounder of Ning, a business providing you with a platform for social networking websites. An innovator and originator, he’s among the few individuals who has initiated a software group (Web browsers) used by over a billion people and created several billion-dollar businesses. He sits on the board of directors of Facebook, eBay, and HP, amongst others.
