Kyle Smith (born 1966) is an American critic, novelist and essayist. He is a staff film critic for the New York Post. A writer in Entertainment Weekly described Smith's film-reviewing style "an exercise in hilarious hostility". He has been dubbed "America's most cantankerous film critic" by The Atlantic magazine. Smith has also contributed to The Wall Street Journal, People magazine, New York magazine, The New York Times, and The Weekly Standard.
In June 2015, Smith received widespread publicity for his publishing of an article in the New York Post claiming "Women are not capable of understanding 'GoodFellas'".

He is also the author of two novels, "Love Monkey" (Harper Perennial, 2005), which was adapted into a CBS television series in 2006 and "A Christmas Caroline" (William Morrow, 2006).
