Mike Ilitch Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018

Ilitch continues to be at the middle of Detroit’s downtown redevelopment efforts; he bought and renovated the Fox Theatre and relocated his company headquarters (Ilitch Holdings) there. He also possesses Olympia Entertainment. A first generation American of Macedonian ancestry, he’s married to Marian Bayoff Ilitch.

Ilitch is an enthusiastic sports fan, as well as in 1982, he and Marian bought the fighting Detroit Red Wings professional ice hockey franchise and turned the team into a Stanley Cup winner. During the time of the purchase, the team had made the playoffs just twice in the preceding 15 seasons and was known as the “Dead Wings.” Interest in ice hockey in Detroit was at an all-time low. Since that time, the team has won fifteen divisional tournaments, six President’s Prizes (for the top regular season record among all NHL teams), six Campbell Bowls and four Stanley Cups in 1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008. After years of drafting top picks and dressing their youthful players, and with appropriate direction and direction, the Red Wings are becoming an elite NHL team. The Red Wings added two more tournaments in 2002 and 2008. Before the 2004–05 NHL lockout, Forbes Magazine rated the Red Wings as the fifth-most valuable franchise in the NHL, despite a $16 million operating loss.
