Charles Clarence Butt (created February 3, 1938) is an American grocer who took over his family’s San Antonio-based heb supermarket chain in 1971. The privately held company now has more than 300 shops and $17 billion in sales, based on Forbes magazine. Charles Butt earned a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He became president of the H.E. Butt Grocery Company in 1971. On November 14, 2001, the Mexican authorities granted Butt the Aguila Azteca medal for his philanthropic engagement and company deals in Mexico.
