Hope Solo Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018

Hope Amelia Solo (created July 30, 1981) is an American football goalkeeper as well as a two time Olympic gold medalist. She’s been goalkeeping for the USA women’s national soccer team since 2000. After the WPS discontinued operations in early 2012, she played for the Seattle Sounders in the W League. She now plays for Seattle Reign FC in the National Women’s Soccer League, the top division of women’s football in America. Solo is looked upon as among the best goalkeepers on the planet and now shares the U.S. record for most career shutouts. She was the starting goalkeeper for many the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup and helped lead the U.S. national team to the semifinals having given up just two goals in four matches, including three straight shutouts. Following a contentious move created by head coach Greg Ryan to bench Solo in favor of expert goalkeeper Brianna Scurry for the semifinal, when the Usa was conquered 4–0 by Brazil, Solo made headlines with post game comments that resulted in several teammates shunning her. She later rallied to help the United States win gold medals in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. During the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, her special ability was emphasized particularly within a quarterfinal match against Brazil, where the U.S. conquered Brazil in penalty kicks. Even though the team lost to Japan in an intensely close match that finished in penalties, Solo received the Golden Glove award for the best goalkeeper in addition to the Bronze Ball award for her general performance in the tournament. Following the 2012 London Olympics, where she received her second Olympic gold medal, she released her bestselling autobiography Solo: A Memoir of Hope.
