Ken was a lay counselor at the Southern California Counseling Center for many years. In 1991 he became a staff member, the director of a wildly popular community outreach program known as TLC (Training Lay Counselors). In this capacity he helped train people in the community who counseled in various capacities throughout Los Angeles without any training. He used SCCC counselors and licensed supervisors as teachers and group supervisors to improve skills and talents and, at the end, there was a graduation that brought everyone to tears.
