Iain Cuthbertson was born on January 4, 1930 in Glasgow, Scotland. He was an actor, known for Sutherland's Law (1973), Gorillas in the Mist (1988) and Super Gran (1985). He was married to Janet Mary Smith and Anne Kristen. He died on September 4, 2009 in Glasgow.
Son of biochemist Sir David Cuthbertson, who was part of the team that invented the saline drip.

Educated at Glasgow Academy, Aberdeen Grammar School and the University of Aberdeen. Between 1975 and 1978, he held the honorary position of Rector of the University of Aberdeen.

However after a break of eighteen months to recover, he was able to return to film and TV acting where retakes were possible if his memory failed him.
