Jonah Peretti (created January 1, 1974) is an American Internet entrepreneur, a founder of BuzzFeed and Huffington Post, and originator of Reblog. He left The Huffington Post in 2011 after it had been purchased by AOL for $315 million. Peretti founded the “Internet popularity contest” website BuzzFeed in November 2006. After he left The Huffington Post, Peretti started working at BuzzFeed fulltime. While initially famous because of its combination of internet memes and lists, the website got new interest when it was the very first to break the news that John McCain would support Mitt Romney in the 2012 Republican Primary.
