Frank Stella (born May 12, 1936) is an American painter and printmaker, noted for his work in the areas of minimalism and post-painterly abstraction. Stella continues to live and work in New York.
He was awarded the American National Medal of the Arts and Humanities by the National Endowment of the Arts at the White House in Washington D.C. on February 25, 2010 for his services and contributions to the arts.
