Tony Barr was born on March 14, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA as Morris Yaffe. He was an actor and producer, known for Murder in the First (1995), Playhouse 90 (1956) and Safety: In Danger Out of Doors (1978). He was married to Annette Barbara Barr. He died on December 19, 2002 in Palm Desert, California, USA.
He passed his knowledge on to others through The Film Actor's Workshop, which he founded. Tony Barr was a well respected acting teacher. His book, "Acting For the Camera" (first published 1982) is considered one of the best books on the art and craft of film acting. Tony's son, David Barr-Yaffe is currently a production sound mixer in the television and motion picture industry.

Tony became an executive with ABC and CBS and oversaw the creation of movies, mini series and TV series. He oversaw the production of Magnum PI, Baretta, Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch and many more.
