As he has said on the show, he grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia. On The Weather Network, Chris also hosts WeatherWise, a segment where he explains different weather phenomena. He is the station's longest-serving host, having joined the station in 1996.He is a graduate of Acadia University, and is a former commercial airline pilot.
