Tareq Dirgham Salahi (created May 26, 1969) is an American former vintner, public official, and television personality. In mid-2011 Tareq and Michaele Salahi were sued by two parties for fraudulently taking payment for wine tours that have been never delivered. On April 23, 2012, the Attorney General of Virginia, Ken Cuccinelli II, filed suit against Tareq Salahi for breaking the Virginia Consumer Protection Act for failing to run tours that have been bought, neglecting to provide refunds for canceled tours and claiming other businesses as official associates that had no relationship together with his company. Shortly after, Tareq declared he would run against Cucinelli in the 2013 election for Governor of Virginia. In May 2013, the property and buildings of the previous Oasis Winery was sold at auction for $1.1 million in order to meet lenders, indicating the ending of the Salahi family engagement with Oasis Winery.
