Brown-haired, blue-eyed, round-faced British actress of great charm who started as a child in the early silents, and continued the child-like roles into her late teens. Best remembered for her roles in the long-running 'Tilly the Tomboy' series. Her output and popularity began to fall away in the twenties (she first lost star billing in 1928), but ...
Alma spent virtually her entire silent career, beginning in 1907, with producer Cecil M. Hepworth. She was the obvious favourite of the producer, who refused to let her wear make-up in any of his films. She starred in Hepworth's last film, The House of Marney (1927).
