Thom Beers (born c. 1952) is an American television producer and narrator/voice over artist. He’s now chairman & CEO of FremantleMedia’s US office, FremantleMedia North America. Beers narrates for most of the shows he produces. In 2007, he created and narrated Ice Road Truckers for the History Channel and narrated Ax Men in 2008 about logging. Like Deadliest Catch, both shows had their origins in a special of a dangerous profession. In 2010 he was likewise the executive producer and narrator of Storage Wars on A&E. Most recently,[when?] truTV has enlisted Beers and Original Productions for his or her own “dangerous profession” show: Black Gold, a documentary about oil drillers. Beers can also be executive producer and narrator for Tornado Road, a miniseries on The Weather Channel and Whisker Wars which airs on IFC. Beers was also the supervising producer for the animation Captain Planet and the Planeteers on TBS from 1990-1991 for 26 episodes.
