He was a producer and director, known for Danger Mouse (1981), The Wind in the Willows (1983) and The BFG (1989). He was married to Margaret Routledge. He died on November 17, 2011 in Manchester, Greater Manchester, England.
He and his professional partner, Brian Cosgrove, a friend from college, established Cosgrove Hall Productions, an animation company, in 1976 and retired in 2000. Their company is now called Cosgrove Hall Fitzpatrick.
