1Los Angeles today is not like the city I knew when I started as a police officer. Over the years I saw L.A. falling apart piece by piece due to gang violence. Right now, we don't own the streets, they do!
2About the Rodney King beating: "I was shocked like everybody else. And I knew that type of incident was going to happen since the suppression of the choke-hold appliance."
3We are the butchers of society. Everybody wants to eat meat, but nobody wants to know how it's made! Which is exactly the same thing in law enforcement. Everybody wants safe streets, but nobody wants to know how it'll be done!
