Drudge has additionally authored a novel and hosted a radio show as well as a television show. Drudge was unknown before he started the news aggregation website, the Drudge Report. For a long time, he took odd jobs including nighttime counterman at a 7 Eleven convenience store, telemarketer for Time Life publications, McDonald’s supervisor, and sales assistant in a Nyc grocery store. In 1989, he moved to La, where he took up residence in a little Hollywood apartment. He took employment in the gift shop of CBS studios, finally working his way up to supervisor. Here, he was apparently privy to some inside gossip, section of the motivation for founding the Drudge Report. The Drudge Report started as an email sent out to several buddies. The initial problems were component rumor and component viewpoint. They were spread as an email newsletter and posted to alt.showbiz.gossip Usenet forum. In 1996, the newsletter transitioned slowly from amusement rumor to political rumor and moved from email to the Web as its primary distribution mechanism. Drudge’s web site gained in popularity in the late 1990s after several reports which he reported before the mainstream media. In 1998, Drudge acquired popularity when he was the primary factory outlet to break the news that afterwards became the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
