Gerard David Schine, better known as G. David Schine or David Schine (September 11, 1927 – June 19, 1996), was the wealthy heir to a hotel chain fortune who became a central figure in the Army-McCarthy Hearings of 1954 in his role as the chief consultant to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

Raised in Gloversville, New York, a city of about 20,000 located 40 miles northwest of Albany. The Schine family owned a huge number of movie theaters, and some hotels, throughout the northeastern USA. The fatal plane crash also claimed his wife and his son, who was the pilot.

Scion of a wealthy family, Schine became infamous in the 1950s as an aide to disgraced, anti-Communist demagogue Sen. Joe McCarthy and his assistant Roy Cohn. Married former Miss Sweden and Miss Universe 1955.
