Uzo (born August 1957) is a Nigerian-American filmmaker and graphic artist. He has made two feature films, Walls & Bridges (1992) and Better Than Ever (1997). After losing the option to the film rights on the novel, Mendel's Dwarf, after many years of work, he is currently working on a third film, Sophie's Wish.
Asked who her hero in life is: "My mom. She was ahead of her time. She achieved things in her village that men had ventured to achieve, and she did it better than men."

On Feb. 17, 2001, she was arrested by New York City police and charged with running a $2-million-a-year prostitution ring. Police said that Egwu ran an escort service, Glamour Roses, with eight locations in New York City that ran its own internet website and advertised its girls for "escort" at $1000 per hour and up. She was also charged with setting up several front companies to launder the money she made from the prostitution ring.
