Ralph Mooney (September 16, 1928 – March 20, 2011) was a well known steel guitar player. He played with many country and western artists, including Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and played in Waylon Jennings' band for two decades.
Steel guitarist and studio musician for Capitol Records in the 1950s and 1960s credited as one of the architects of the so-called "Bakersfield Sound". Backed Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Donna Fargo, and Wanda Jackson before joining Waylon Jennings's band in 1970.
