Joseph Michael “Joey” Kramer (created June 21, 1950) is the drummer for the American hard rock group Aerosmith. His memoir, “Reach Hard: A Narrative of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top”, premiered on June 30, 2009. Joey wed his girlfriend Linda in 2009. They now reside in Austin, Texas. A strong drummer, Joey has been proven to amuse concertgoers during his drum solos by hitting the drums along with his arms, legs, toes, elbows as well as his brow. In his memoir, Joey disclosed that he idly imagined the name Aerosmith while listening to Harry Nilsson’s album “Aerial Ballet” in 1968, two years prior to the group was formed. Kramer insists that there’s no link between the name “Aerosmith” and Sinclair Lewis’ novel “Arrowsmith”. In June 2011, Joey did a fan Q&A and disclosed his open mindedness to external writers, saying he doesn’t care about it as long as it is all 5 members of Aerosmith playing the content composed.
