#Fact
1He used two limiters in series - so that neither would produce and audible 'pump' but the sound range could be more tightly controlled, quiet sound remaining audible while loud could make you jump but not distort. This method allowed the camera to take wider shots as the microphone booms could be held further away from the actors and yet the speech remain clear. This also resulted in a more open sound that gave a greater sense of reality to a drama (as well as showing up TVC's ventilation noises - but it was worth it.) Chick helped develop the TV art of stereo sound production on shows such as Star Cops which was recorded in stereo as a personal experiment.
2Two children with Joy, Bridget and Simon.
