Debra Jo Rupp (created February 24, 1951) is an American movie and television actress, perhaps famous for her role as Kitty Forman on the Fox sitcom, “That ’70s Show”. She’s also famous for playing the character of Alice on the third, fourth and fifth seasons of “Friends”. She starred on the ABC sitcom “Better with You” from 2010-2011.
The short film was an official selection in the Sundance Film Festival and won several awards at film festivals all over the world. In 2004, she played Brad Hunt’s nagging mom in Lucky 13, a full length independent film starring Lauren Graham. She subsequently returned to All My Children for just one episode in December 2005, playing a displaced girl named Victoria. Rupp has frequently returned to Massachusetts and New York to appear in regional and off Broadway stage productions. That ’70s Show finished in 2006. Rupp appeared shortly after in a dramatic television character as the wife of a slain pharmaceutical CEO, on the crime drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In the episode, entitled “Infiltrated”, Rupp’s character desperately tries to conceal her slain husband’s previous mistreatment. In early 2007, the feature film Kickin It Old Skool premiered, in which Rupp was cast as Jamie Kennedy’s mom. In 2008, Rupp appeared as a restaurant owner who helps two homeless guys in the comedy drama-musical, Jackson, composed and directed by J. F. Lawton. In exactly the same year, she returned to daytime television in a guest character on As the World Turns.
