Shu Uemura (?? ?, Uemura Sh?, June 19, 1928 – December 29, 2007) was a Japanese make-up artist and founder of the Shu Uemura international cosmetics line which bears his name.
Took over the makeup for Shirley MacLaine's Geisha role in My Geisha (1962)_ after Michael Westmore fell ill. The international recognition Uemura received enabled him to launch his own cosmetics company. Uemura sold controlling interest in his company to L'Oréal in 2004.
