Chris Parry was born in Manchester, England. He is known for his work on The 47th Annual Tony Awards (1993), The Who's Tommy, the Amazing Journey (1993) and The 53rd Annual Tony Awards (1999). He was married to Vivien Gregg. He died on January 17, 2007 in San Diego, California, USA.
Won Broadway's 1993 Tony Award as Best Lighting Designer for "The Who's Tommy." He was nominated in the same category on two other occasions: in 1987, along with collaborator Beverly Emmons, for "Les Liaisons Dangereuses," and in 1999 for "Not About Nightingales."

He was awarded the 1997 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Lighting Designer of 1996 for Tommy performed at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
