Julian H. Robertson Jr. KNZM (created June 25, 1932) is an American former hedge fund manager. Now retired, Robertson invests directly in other hedge funds, most run by former workers of Robertson’s defunct hedge fund business. He was born in Salisbury, North Carolina in America. Robertson founded the investment firm Tiger Management Corp., one of the first hedge funds. In 1993, his damages and share of Tiger’s gain surpassed $300 million. The next year, in accordance with “Forbes”, Robertson’s return on his $200 million private trading account was 150 percent.
After shutting his fund in 2000, Robertson kept his hand in the hedge fund company by supporting and funding coming hedge fund managers (38 in total at the time of September 2009), in return to get a position within their fund management firms.
