Aidan Roark was born on October 23, 1905 in County Carlow, Ireland. He was an actor and writer, known for Stormy, the Thoroughbred (1954) and It Had to Happen (1936). He was married to Helen Wills and Esther Foss Moore. He died on March 27, 1984 in Santa Cruz, California, USA.
Roark's second wife, Helen Wills Moody, was a tennis star who won Wimbledon eight times, the U.S. Championship seven times, the French Championship four times, two Olympic gold medals, and at one point held a 158-match winning streak. She was named the Associated Press' female athlete of the year in 1935, and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1959.
