Cal Howard was born on March 24, 1911 in Los Angeles, California, USA as Calvin Howard. He was a writer and actor, known for Gulliver's Travels (1939), The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour (1968) and Mr. Bug Goes to Town (1941). He died on September 10, 1993 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.
Animator and story writer who worked variously for Walter Lantz (1920), Walt Disney (1929), Lantz, again (1932), Leon Schlesinger at Warner Brothers (1935) and Screen Gems (late 40's). By the 1950's, he was at NBC as a gag writer for "The Johnny Dugan Show" and then became an early associate producer and writer for the "Today Show". At the end of the decade, he resumed working on cartoons as a freelancer with Lantz and Warners. He was a recipient of an Annie Award for Lifetime Achievement in animation in 1980.
