Wonga Philip Harris Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018
Template:Multiple issuesWonga Phillip "Phil" Harris (June 24, 1904 – August 11, 1995) was an American singer, songwriter, jazz musician, actor, and comedian. He was born to Harry and Dollie Harris. His mother was of Irish descent. Though successful as an orchestra leader, Harris is remembered today for his recordings as a vocalist, his voice work in animation (probably most famous later in his career for his roles as bears, one being Baloo in Disney's The Jungle Book, and as Little John in Disney's Robin Hood). He also voiced Thomas O'Malley in Disney's The Aristocats and probably best known for doing his last role as Patou in the 1991 Don Bluth film Rock-A-Doodle. Harris was also a pioneer in radio situation comedy, first with Jack Benny, and then in a series in which he co-starred with his wife, singer-actress Alice Faye, for eight years. In 1981, he sang, Back Home Again in Indiana before the Indianapolis 500.

Quote
1
[on The Jungle Book (1967)] At first I didn't want to do it. They kept calling and saying, "you know Phil Mr. Disney really wants you for this movie". I'm not really sure what made me say it but I said to the guys there, "do you mind if I do it the way *I* would do it?". They said to give it a shot and I said, "You know you kept messing around in here and you'll get your roof knocked in. I mean, that monkey'll eat you!"

[on Bing Crosby] He was a tough guy. Make one wrong move, and he'd never speak to you again.
3

Fact
1
Originally, he was cast to reprise his role as the voice of Baloo in the 1990 animated TV series TaleSpin (1990). However, after one recording session, it was found that Harris, who was by then 85 years old, had aged to the point where he could no longer do the voice successfully and the role went to veteran voice actor Ed Gilbert instead.
During World War II, he was a member of the Merchant Marines from December 1942 to March 1943.
9
He was an avid golfer and won many amateur golf tournaments. He took over managing the Bing Crosby Golf Tournament after Crosby's death.
