Tim Lees (born Merseyside January 24, 1986) is an English football player and football skills performer. He finished second in the 2004 World Nike Freestyle Competition receiving just over 54,000 votes losing out convincingly to the Brazilian champion from Rio de Janeiro.Lees' exploits include the Channel 4 2006 TV series The Pepsi Max World Challenge. In November 2005, Pepsi and T4 teamed up to find the best two amateur footballers in Great Britain. With over 17,000 entrants overall, Lees and Marcel Jones were chosen to represent the UK. They went on to compete against the best amateur players from ten other countries. The series was set around the globe with a $100,000 prize for the winning team performing different football challenges involving David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry and Alessandro Nesta.Lees was also chosen to represent England semi professional side at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany, managed by Jamie Redknapp. Lees finished top goalscorer for England and was subsequently offered a professional contract in Portugal by Dimas and Sao Pinto's player agency, however, the deal fell through due to work permit and contractual reasons with Vitoria Setubal. Lees was previously released from Everton and Bolton Wanderers academies after failing to make the grade as a teenager.He has performed and choreographed many football skills commercials including Coca-Cola Street Striker where Wayne Rooney headed the campaign later shown on Sky One, a Toni & Guy UK tour and at Wembley Stadium for Microsoft. Lees has played semi professionally for Leek Town (Northern Premier League) and Stalybridge Celtic (Conference North) scoring two goals on debut but failing to hold down a first team place. In 2007, he signed a football scholarship in Maryland, USA before moving to North London club Wingate and Finchley F.C. on a one-year contract. At Finchley, Lees recorded 9 goals and 23 assists before moving to Harlow Town under Glen Alzapedi.Lees has coached at Watford and Wigan Athletic's academies and is a Director of The iFDA.
