Stephen Tompkinson (born 15 October 1965) is an English actor, best known for his work in television drama and comedy productions.Tompkinson has played Alan Banks in the ITV crime drama DCI Banks since 2010, but is best known for his role as Danny Trevanion in Wild at Heart, which ran on ITV between 2006 and 2012.Before these roles, Stephen made appearances in Ballykissangel as Father Peter Clifford, Grafters, playing Trevor Purvis and Drop the Dead Donkey as Damien Day between 1990 and 1998.He also appeared in the movie Brassed Off in 1996.
