Weinger would reprise the character in two direct-to-video sequels, for the Disney Channel television series, as well as the “Kingdom Hearts” show. He’s also well-known for playing D.J. Tanner’s boyfriend “Steve Hale” on “Full House” for two seasons. He’s now a writer and producer for television.
Weinger was born in The Big Apple, Ny, to Jewish parents Babs Weinger, a teacher, and Elliott Weinger, an orthopedic surgeon. The oldest of four kids, Scott has two brothers and one sister. He spent the bulk of his formative years in Hollywood, Florida. He moved to Los Angeles when his career started to take off. Scott first became interested in playing in the third grade, when an actor gave a demonstration for Career Day. He relentlessly pestered his parents to get him an agent until they eventually understood the young tyke was serious about becoming an actor. Weinger’s first show proved to be a national advertisement for Ideal Toys. Weinger garnered acclaim amongst computer users in a 1980s advertisement for Commodore’s multimedia Amiga computer. Weinger’s first acting role was in Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach, where he had a minor part. The show was produced to air on the CBS network by Miller-Boyett Productions, which had produced a number of other successes. Afterwards, in a Full House episode where the Tanner family goes on a vacation to Disney World, his character appears dressed as Aladdin. Upon his return to Hollywood, Weinger would have several small parts in television programs, starred in a horror comedy film, 2003’s Shredder; and supplied his voice for Osamu Tezuka’s Metropolis as well as the 3-D Disney movie Mickey’s PhilharMagic. He played Policeman Rubin in What I Like About You.
