(1965), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1966), How I Won the War (1967), The Bed Sitting Room (1969), The Three Musketeers (1973), Juggernaut (1974), The Four Musketeers: Milady's Revenge (1974) and The Return of the Musketeers (1989).
He was asked to be in the Mike+The Mechanics video because the producer (Paul Flattery) and director (Jim Yukich) were huge Beatles fans so they cast Kinnear ("Help," "How I Won The War) and Victor Spinetti ("A Hard Days Night.""Help") not only because they were great actors, but so that they could talk to them about their Beatle experiences. Flattery also loved Jagger's movie "Performance" so they also added Johnny Shannon who played Harry Flowers in that.
Did a great deal of charity work for handicapped and disabled children, after his daughter Karina was born with cerebral palsy.
Appeared in Anna Pavlova (1983) with James Fox, who plays the part of Mr. Salt in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), which is the same role Kinnear played in the original version, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971).
Father of actor Rory Kinnear and casting director Kirsty Kinnear.
While filming The Return of the Musketeers (1989), he fell from a horse, breaking his pelvis. Tragically, he died the next day in hospital, from a heart attack brought on by his injuries.
He appeared at the beginning of the music video, "Taken In", by Mike + The Mechanics.
Educated at George Heriot's School, Edinburgh.
He appeared in the music video, "All I Need Is A Miracle", by Mike + The Mechanics.
