Robin Hunter was born on September 4, 1929 in London, England as Robin Ian Hunter. He was an actor, known for HMS Paradise (1964), The Sign of Four (1987) and Vampire Circus (1972). He was married to Amanda Barrie and Maria Charles. He died on March 8, 2004 in Hampstead, London.
For over 20 years he and Aline Waites wrote popular anarchic, off-beat pantomimes, which were produced across Europe and America. The pair also compiled The Illustrated Victorian Songbook.

As well as acting he also worked as a conference director, and staged several conferences at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

At 23, he was the youngest chairman ever at the famous Player's Theatre in London, renowned for its "Victorian entertainment", traditional music hall shows and an annual pantomime.

Although born in North London he grew up in Hollywood where his father worked for most of the year. He trained at Webber Douglas Drama School in London and went on to play many juvenile leads in West End shows.

Shared a passion for horse racing with second wife Amanda Barrie.

Hunter joined the Aba Daba Theatre Company, a company founded in Hampstead in 1969 some years before by actress/writer Aline Waites who became his longtime collaborator. They created many musical comedies and revues for the company.
