1Father-in-law of Phil Lynott.
2He lived in an apartment in the St John's Wood district of London. It was opposite Lords Cricket Ground where he, a great fan, could watch all games played. When a new stand was built obscuring his sight of the pitch he simply purchased the penthouse flat in the same block thereby restoring his fine - and free view.
3He had five children: Liz and Lindsay (twins, born 1954), Caroline (born 1958), Charlotte (born 1962) and Nicholas (born 1965).
4He suffered severe head injuries in a car crash on the M5 motorway on 3 October 1992. He was not expected to survive but made a miraculous recovery.
