Lamar Davis (June 15, 1921 – February 24, 2014) was an American professional football player. Raymond Lamar Davis was born in Brunswick, Georgia and attended Glynn Academy. He went to college at the University of Georgia and played for the Bulldogs from 1940 until 1942 winning the SEC and a National Championship. He was drafted by the so-called "Steagles" in the 2nd round (12th overall) of the 1943 NFL Draft. He was listed as being 6'1" and 185 pounds. He seems to have played on offense and defense scoring numerous touchdowns as a receiver and making several interceptions. He played from 1946 until 1949. His nickname was "Racehorse". He resided in St. Simons Island, Georgia. He was inducted in to the State of Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. His catch of a 65-yard touchdown pass thrown by Frank Sinkwich that was in the air as the final horn sounded to beat Auburn 7-0 is legendary.
